Conclusion
From my results i can see that my target audience believe that an attractive CD magazine advert is very important. In many cases it may also provoke the purchase of the CD ! When creating my magazine advert i need to ensure that i take these results into account to make my advert as successful as possible.
Magazine Advert Research
Here I have viewed and analysed magazine adverts that I thought looked captivating and would have been successful in the promotion of the CD. This will not only inspire my own designs it will also enable me to see what features are regularly present on a successful CD cover. I will also be able to note what features make each advert successful and which features do not help in creating a successful advertisement.
The Vines - The Best Of

This CD advertisement is highly decorative and is wonderfully eye catching. The advertisement contains all of the information needed to promote and inform the CD. There is no image used of the band, yet i believe the image of the leaves and vines takes the place of a photograph and it is not needed here. The advertisement is calming, much like the genre of music it is promoting.
This CD advertisement is promoting a similar genre to my song, so i will take its simplicity and its features into consideration when designing my own advert. The style is decorative yet still simple and modern and i like this idea.
Gwen Stefani - Love.Angel.Music.Baby
![Picture](/uploads/5/2/7/3/5273969/4395213.jpeg)
I really like the look of this advertisement, i think it is bold, captivating and extremely eye catching. The font is not only bold and easy to read it is also highly decorative and expensive looking. The careful editing of the image creates not only an image but also an interesting background. The actual CD cover is also shown to show potential buyers what the CD actually looks like when they come to purchasing it. The release date is also made clear and uses the same stylistic font as the main title. Although the colours are bold a small colour spectrum is used as not to overpower the whole page.
Even though i believe this magazine advert would be very successful i do not think this style would be appropriate for my genre or target audience. Yet i will take into consideration all of the great features used and the use of bold yet subtle colour scheme.
Overdrive - Assassin
![Picture](/uploads/5/2/7/3/5273969/2496929.jpg)
This CD cover contains all the features needed to create a successful magazine advertisement. A band image is shown, the band and album name, the release date and an overall eye catching advert. The advertisement will attract attention and appeal greatly to its target audience.
Although this advertisement is for a song of very different genre to the one i am creating an advert for, i believe i can take all the conventions to make a successful advert for my own song.
Research Conclusion
Although all of these adverts are promoting bands and artists from very differing genres, the conventions and features used are much the same. I believe to create a successful advert i will need to include many of the features seen above. This will include using a clear and large font for the artist/band name and album name, clearly state when the CD is released and importantly appeal to the target audience.
